“Tudo é impermanente neste mundo”, diz Mudita. Um “não” agora pode transformar-se num “sim” amanhã.

Your Assignment: Reflect, Learn, Grow

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it may be they have come to assist you through a difficulty, or to provide you with guidance. They may be in your life to support you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
difficult person can challenge you to grow in patience, forgiveness, and/or understanding. Some people may test your strength, commitment, willpower, determination, and/or ethics. A positive and supportive person who comes into our life may seem like a blessing and godsend; and they are. In either case, the person has come into your life for the reason needed.
One day, seemingly without any reason, the relationship may come to an end. This may happen over time as you drift apart, or more suddenly. It may be a positive experience such as someone getting married or moving to another city to take a job offer. Or, the relationship may end through negative circumstances that force you to take a stand on an issue.
What we must realize is that a need has been met – for you and for them. Perhaps it was an unknown need, or maybe it was an answer to a prayer. If the relationship has ended, then reflect, give thanks, consider what you learned, think about what you could/would do better next time (even if you felt the relationship was a good one), forgive if needed, hope/wish/pray the best for that person, and then move on in your journey.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON — an extended period of time. Just as there are seasons for planting, growing, and harvesting; in your  life, there are seasons when you are prepared to learn, grow, or produce. There are other times in your life when you’re not prepared to grow, learn, or even listen. So, when someone comes into your life at a certain season, it is (hopefully) because the timing is right for what they can offer you.
This person may bring you an experience of great peace, joy, or happiness. They may empower you to do something you have never done before. They may you assurance and strengthen your self-confidence. Accept this, and embrace it. It is real. Yet, maybe for only for a season.
Consider… In life, you may have tasks on a To Do list as well as long-term projects that need to be pursued over a period of weeks, months, or years. In the same way, those who come into your life for a short-term Reason, may help you check something off our To Do list. Those who come into your life for a Season will (hopefully) remain for the duration of a more complex long-term purpose.
Some people are in your life for a LIFETIME. These people are, perhaps, the greatest blessing because they stick with you through the ReasonsSeasons, and through your entire lifetime. Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons. These are often qualities, skills, and aspects of your character you must build upon in order to have a solid foundation for yourself and in service to others. Be sure to acknowledge, value, be thankful for, and love the people who are in your life for a lifetime. Apply what you have learned. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Your Assignment: Reflect, Learn, Grow

Take time to be intentionally and contentiously thankful for everyone in your life; whether they are in your life for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime. Know that you are in other peoples’ lives for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime. Re-read the above writing, and think about your family, friends, colleagues, clients, and acquaintances. As yourself, “What calling and purpose am I best equipped to help this person in their life on their life’s journey?” You may or may not feel you know if you are in their life for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime. Consider, meditate, and pray about how you can best be of service on every level for everyone you know. If you’re in someone’s life for a reason, don’t bail out on them prior to seeing things through. Know that most relationships are two ways. Don’t presume you are in someone’s life to serve them for a reason or season without considering what it is you need to learn from them.

The best piece of advice I could give anyone is pretty simple: Get a Life.

I suppose the best piece of advice I could give anyone is pretty simple:  get a life.  A real life, not the manic pursuit of the next promotion, the bigger paycheck, the larger house.  Do you think you'd care so very much about those things if you developed an aneurysm one afternoon, or found a lump in your breast while in the shower?
Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze over the dunes, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk circles over a pond and a stand of pines.  Get a life in which you pay attention to the baby as she scowls with concentration when she tries to pick up a Cheerio with her thumb and first finger.
Turn off your cell phone.  Turn off your regular phone, for that matter.  Keep still.  Be present.
Get a life in which you are not alone.  Find people you love, and who love you.  And remember that love is not leisure, it is work.  Each time I look at my diploma, I remember that I am still a student, still learning every day to be human.  Send an e-mail.  Write a letter.  Kiss your mom.  Hug your dad.
Get a life in which you are generous.  Look around at the azaleas making fuchsia star bursts in spring; look at a full moon hanging silver in a black sky on a cold night.  And realize that life is glorious, and that you have no business taking it for granted.

Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to spread it around.  Take the money that you would have spent on beers in a bar and give it to charity.  Work in a soup kitchen.  Tutor a seventh-grader.
All of us want to do well.  But if we do not do good, too, then doing well will never be enough.
Life is short.  Remember that, too.
I've always known this.  Or almost always.  I've been living with mortality for decades, since my mother died of ovarian cancer when she was forty and I was nineteen.  And this is what I learned from that experience:  that knowledge of our own mortality is that greatest gift God ever gives us.
It is so easy to waste our lives:  our days, our hours, our minutes.  It is so easy to take for granted the pale new growth on an evergreen, the sheen of the limestone on Fifth Avenue, the color of our kids' eyes, the way the melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again.  It is so easy to exist instead of live.

How To Find Your True Self

Get rid of the old habits and attitudes

by JOE DISPENZA, D.C.

"To relinquish the attitudes that have kept us from knowing who we really are is part of finding the true self." - Dr. Joe Dispenza
One of the biggest lies we have come to believe about ourselves and our true nature is that we are nothing more than physical beings defined by a material reality, devoid of dimension and vital energy, and separate from God—which I trust you know by now is within us and all around us. To keep the truth about our real identity from us is not only enslaving, but it asserts that we are finite beings living a linear life that lacks real meaning.
Creating A New Mind
The assertion that there are no realms and no life beyond our physical world and that we have no control over our destiny is not a “truth” that you and I should ever believe in. You are a multidimensional being who creates your reality. Helping you accept this idea as your law and new belief has been my labor in my book. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself means that you are going to have to lose your mind and create a new one.
But when we fully lay down the old, familiar life or mind and start creating the new, there is a moment between the two worlds that is bereft of anything we know, and most rush back from this void to the familiar. That place of uncertainty—the unknown—is what the maverick, the mystic, and the saint know to be fertile ground.
To live in the realm of the unpredictable is to be all potentials at once. Can you become comfortable in this empty space? If you can, you are at the nexus of a great creative power, the “I am.”
Break From The Chains of the Mundane
To biologically, energetically, physically, emotionally, chemically, neurologically, and genetically change ourselves and to stop living by the unconscious affirmation that competition, strife, success, fame, physical beauty, sexuality, possessions, and power are the be-all and end-all in life is when we break from the chains of the mundane. I fear that this so-called recipe for ultimate success in life has kept us looking outside of ourselves for answers and true happiness, when the real answers and true joy have always been within.
Change From Within
So where and how do we find our true self? Do we create a persona that is shaped by associations with the outer environment, which perpetrates the lie? Or do we identify with something within us that is as real as everything outside us, and create a unique identity, which has awareness and a mind that we can emulate?
That’s right—it is that infinite resource of information and intelligence, personal and universal, that is intrinsic to all human beings. It is an energetic consciousness that is filled with such coherence that when it moves through us, we can only call it love. When the door opens, its frequency carries such vital information that it changes who we are from within.
Breaking Old Habits
Our problem is that we have developed habits that limit our true greatness. The survival emotions, which are so addictive, cause us to live with limitation, feeling separate from the Source, and forget we are creators. In fact, the corresponding states of mind that correlate with stress truly are the reasons why we are controlled by our emotions, live by a lower denominator of energy, and are enslaved by a set of beliefs rooted in fear. These so-called normal psychological states have been accepted by most as ordinary and common. They are the real “altered states” of consciousness.
Hence, I want to emphasize that anxiety, depression, frustration, anger, guilt, pain, worry, and sadness—the emotions regularly expressed by billions of people—are why the masses live life knocked out of balance and altered from the true self. And maybe the supposed altered states of consciousness achieved in meditation during true mystical moments are actually “natural” human states of consciousness that we should strive to live by on a regular basis. I accept that contention as my truth.
It’s time to wake up and to be the living example of the truth. It’s not enough to espouse these understandings; it’s time to live them, demonstrate them, and be “at cause” in all areas of our lives. When you and I “in-body” such ideals as truth, and make it a habit, then it innately becomes part of us.
Making New Habits
Since we are wired to create habits, why not make true greatness, compassion, genius, ingenuity, empowerment, love, awareness, generosity, healing, quantum manifestation, or divinity our new habits? To remove the layers of personal emotions we decided to memorize as our identity; to shed our selfish limitations that we have given such power to; to abandon false beliefs and perceptions about the nature of reality and self; to overcome our neural habituations of destructive traits that repeatedly undermine our evolution; and to relinquish the attitudes that have kept us from knowing who we really are . . . are all part of finding the true self.
There is an aspect of the self that is a benevolent being who waits behind all of those veils. This is who we are when we are not feeling threatened; fearing loss; trying to please everyone; racing to succeed and scrambling to get to the top at any cost; regretting the past; or feeling inferior, hopeless, desperate, or greedy, just to name a few. When we overcome, and remove whatever stands in the way of our infinite power and self, we are demonstrating a noble deed, not only for ourselves but for all of humanity.
So the greatest habit you will ever break is the habit of being yourself, and the greatest habit you will ever create is the habit of expressing the divine through you. That is when you inhabit your true nature and identity. It is to inhabit self.

One of the scientists, researchers, and teachers featured in the award-winning film What the BLEEP Do We Know!?, Dr. Joe has lectured in more than 24 different countries, on six continents, educating people about the functions of the human brain. He has taught thousands how to reprogram their thinking through scientifically proven neurophysiological principles.

Passo 2: Ampliar a perspectiva. A resposta é quase sempre, nenhuma importância.

- Oscar Wilde

8. Celebre as pequenas vitórias

Life Lessons from Life on the Road

Life Lessons from Life on the Road
As many of you may know, we have been on an amazing book tour to promote my mom’s book, The Practice. When given the opportunity to join and help support my mom on this tour, I truly felt that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. So far, we’ve been across the country together, hoping to spread the message of The Practice and also making friends along the way. I’ve found that this life on the road has taught and even reminded me of so many lessons for life in general. So, this week I thought I’d share with you the little reminders that have come up for me, and to share with you what I’ve learned (and maybe re-learned) along the way. If you’re about to embark on a summer vacation or even just need some gentle reminders for living a magnificent life, check out these eight life lessons from the road. I hope they help you as much as they’ve helped me.
1. Self-care is a real must. Especially when you’re on the road (or just super busy in your life), you have to remember to take care of yourself first.
2. Be ok with saying no. While in a go, go, go environment you get into a routine of saying yes to everything. It’s great to be involved and want to get the most out of everything, but be selective. Say no to places, situations, or events that really aren’t in your best interest. You can’t be everywhere all the time!
3. Remember the importance of sleep. Just like with self-care, sleep is crucial for your health and wellness. When we’re busy, the quality of our sleep seems to take a toll. Do your best, no matter what you’re doing or where you are, to get quality, rejuvenating sleep.
4. Take time for yourself. Truth talk: traveling from place to place with your mother for days on end can be tough. While we get along very well and are understanding of each other, sometimes you just need your alone time! And that’s totally okay. Find time for yourself throughout the day for you to just be alone, breathe and connect, even if for just a few minutes, it’s totally worth it (and it will also help keep you sane).
5. Be present and try not to multitask. Life sends you lessons when it really thinks you’re ignoring what you need to be doing. For weeks, I really wasn’t being present; doing many different things at once. And yes, I know this isn’t the best, but once you start it’s hard to stop! Life literally stopped me in my tracks and reminded me how important it is to pay attention. While hurrying and rushing and not being present, I slammed my foot into a corner of a wall, pulling the ligaments in my middle toe, and bruising the whole foot. I mean, how silly is that, but boy did I learn my lesson. I am still reminded of it now as I hobble along from place to place.
6. Be prepared and take your routines with you. Travel for long periods of time can wreak havoc on your health and wellness…if you let it. Just like in life, it’s so important to be prepared and continue with your regular routines. Even though it’s been a little challenging, I find time to do some yoga in the hotel, and scope out local markets and healthy restaurants to find good food and snacks to take on the way.
7. Be open to whatever shows up. While we are out in this world, we really never know what is going to pop up in our lives. Set an intention to be open and receptive to whatever may come, and get in touch with that sense of excitement that comes with this mentality.
8. Journal and reflect. While taking this time, I’ve really tried to remember that it is special and I may not have this opportunity to do this again. In that, I have been trying to journal everyday and remember the events, feelings, thoughts, and emotions that have come with it all. Life can move pretty fast, so it’s super important to take some time and just notice what all is happening around us.

6 Powerful Steps to Stop Worrying and Start Living

Worry -- it's what keeps many lying awake at night and is what annoyingly gnaws away at people as they try to work, enjoy life, and relax. Unrelenting anxiety and fear can be debilitating and drain you of energy -- emotional and physical. For many people worrying has become habit and automatic. And like other habits and behaviors, it can be changed. People who worry a lot aren't able to enjoy themselves. They aren't able to focus on goals and pleasure. Life for them often feels draining and lacks pleasure. Simply put: they aren't happy.
Here's how to worry less and live more:
  • Think about worrying differently:
What purpose does worry serve? Does it make problems go away? Prevent them from happening? Or make them worse?

  • Allow yourself time to worry:
Many chronic worriers feel they have no control over it. They tell themselves things such as "just don't worry" or "don't think about it". This thought stopping approach rarely works. The reason -- it's a negative command and people simply don't process these well. It forces you to think about the very thing you're trying to avoid.
For example, "I don't want you to think about a zebra with pink and blue stripes." In order to not think about such a zebra, you need to first imagine what one looks like. So, if I tell you, "don't worry about X" you need to actually think about X in order not to think about it. That said, I want you to designate time to worry. Allow yourself 15 minutes a day to let it rip. Choose a time when you're usually most relaxed, but not near bedtime. Let your thoughts gush. Heck, if you want to, worry more intensely during this period than you normally do.
Paradoxically this exercise will give you control over something you otherwise feel you have no control over. It works for countless patients of mine and it will work for you, too.
  • Control:
Ask yourself: do I have control over the issue? So many of the things people worry about they have absolutely no control over yet it dominates their thinking. For example, the weather. We can't control it but we can certainly prepare for it.
  • Fact or fiction?
On a piece of paper make four columns. On the far left write the worry you're having. In the next column identify whether it is fact or fiction and if there's any real evidence to support your belief. Then write an alternative way of thinking and finally, think about whether the original thought was helpful or not. So here's an example of someone who has tickets for a Broadway show on Friday and is worried she may miss it if she gets sick:
    1. "I'm worried I'll get sick and have to miss the show on Friday."
    2. I'm not sick now so the thought is unwarranted and fiction.
    3. I'll make sure I take care of myself and get proper rest so I am healthy for my show on Friday.
    4. "I didn't get sick and I did in fact make it to the show. My worries were needless and didn't affect my health."

  • Be a problem solver:
There's a big difference between worrying and problem solving. The former is about repeating thoughts that are unhelpful and leads to more stress and worry and gets in the way of actually enjoying life and being productive. The latter is focused on getting out of the current way of thinking and making life better.
Put on your problem-solver hat and think about solutions. How might you advise a friend who has a similar concern? What steps would you take to ensure a solution? Take action now.
  • Make friends with uncertainty:
Feel okay about not knowing exactly how things will turn out. Accept the unpredictability of life. Can you imagine how dull life would be if we knew everything that would happen? Think of all that is right with life and embrace ambiguity.
